Landscaping New Zealand held the final of the AGMARDT Young Landscaper of the Year 2009 at the Wintec campus in Hamilton on Saturday the 8th of August.
The competition was made up of 6 practical activities - Plant identification, planting, pruning, propagation, set out and paving.
These were run over the morning. Hirequip were good enough to lend us the heavy machinery that we required for this competition. Wintec supplied us everything else.
The afternoon competition was made up of the written exam, quantity take off and pricing exercise, interview and speech.
Our AGMARDT Young Landscaper of the Year 2009 is - Erin Farrow.
Erin has entered the competition before and this really showed this her presentation of her speech and practical exercises. Brad and Alex were great competitors and the competition was very close.
Erin will now go on to represent the Landscape sector at the Young Horticulturist of the Year 2009 in November.
